in over 20years.
There was a blurb about it on the news last night but they didn't really give details and I was curious so I looked it up this morning and found this. Pretty scary stuff!

Ouch - certainly something to be aware of. We've become complacent. Thanks for the alert!

Many years ago on a show called Bonanza I think, with Hoss and Micheal Landon as his youngest brother. No comments on age and if you know this show than your either my age or older and I am 29! Just ask Melody. One of their shows was of a woman with rabies. Scarey stuff. Here a couple of summers ago a little girl got bit by a bat and started the shots and then got bit again and because she had not finished the shots had to start over.

Rabies is **** ive seen a little 6 yr old in the hostipal with it, beyond curing going insane tied to the bed, waitin for death.... :( what a bad way to go, deffiently get a shot if you get bit, even though its the worse shot youll ever get, a nice long needle to the stomach :D

Yes, we've somehow got to the point (living in our so-called safe, healthy environments) that we feel we're immune to these things. But we are still susceptible to things like rabies when the unforeseen happens... like being bitten by a bat... and we forget that there are very serious outcomes. I think education (bringing awareness to such situations such as via the CBC news link and even here on our forum) is the key.
This may be a fish forum, but sharing info regarding our health and safety and how to take the appropriate precautions or actions is important too. We are a community and need to share info and care for/about those in our community. Knowledge is power... and our key to survival.
