Mental Health for All

Maintaining our mental health means striking a balance in all aspects of your life: social, physical, spiritual, economic and mental. Reaching a balance is a learning process. At times, you may tip the scales too much in one direction and have to find your footing again. Your personal balance will be unique, and your own individual challenge will be to stay mentally healthy by keeping that balance.

It’s important to take time to think about your emotional well-being and your “mental fitness.” Assess your emotional health regularly. Consider the particular demands or stresses you are facing and how they are affecting you.

Great cause Melody, In my school there is an austism program, it's quite moving to watch the young kids advance in well-being from the start to the end of the year. Mental ailments affect all directly or in-directly, thank you for helping raise awarness!

good post, Melody. Mental health is still such a Pink Elephant in our culture. Say "I had a heart attck" and folk shower you with praise for having survived. Mention a spirited rumble with depression and people get a little distanced.

Very true, and very sad that this is the case in our society. People fear what they don't understand, so the more education and awareness there is the less likely people will distance themselves from those who suffer from mental illness.

Well said! The person who judges or mocks those with any kind of mental condition, has serious issues of their own that they aren't brave enough to tackle.

Thanks for the post and reminder.

Oh so true, and that's speaking from experience since I've been living with someone who suffers.
There's days I'd like to :FishOnDaHead: some people.

Living with someone who suffers can compromise your own mental health too - take good care of you! :Flowers3:
