Since we have a Canada-wide reach and these fish may be sold in another Province, I thought I should post. The actual event happened a month ago, but I couldn't find anything to link to online. Now I have  . As far as I know they haven't nailed anyone.
If you find high-quality breeding stock of Discus, Angels, Albino Oscars, etc. suddenly on the market, or if you neighbour suddenly owns these creatures, contact Crime Stoppers: 1-800-222-8477

Unfortunately, in the Canadian justice system, that means they will probably have to write a letter of apology.
But that's a subject for another day.

This stinks so much. I cant help but picture some shady character in a trenchcoat, standing on a corner some where- "hey buddy, wanna buy a Marborough red?" or a "pigeon blood?" *opens coat to reveal rows of bagged fish*
Sad part is most probably didnt even make it. Discus are not the easiest fish to acclimate. Hopefully someone steps forward and nails these jerks.

I'm sure they've changed hands by now, but we can still keep an eye out for them.

There is nothing happend. I have not hear from the police or someone report about that for many months. NO Insurance clams
I lost many fish from stolen and posion . The second break enterace put posion on the tanks.
I had break and enter twice time in Jan 07 and feb 07. That area was unsafe. So we move on it.
I moved the new location. Its much better and safe.
Now I have more than 2000 offspring angelfishes, discus, extermee guppies, crowntail betta, neon rainbow, bosseman rainbow, etc.

Thanks for the update, Duncan. I'm sorry to hear the thieves were never caught and punished. It must have been heartbreaking for you not only to have the fish stolen but also to find that they had put poison in the tanks. Such a cruel act!
I'm glad to hear though that you did not let it discourage you and that have managed to continue your business in a new and safer location.

I am glad you moved to a better, safer location, Duncan. :)
It's horrible what some people will do.

Hi Duncan, great to hear from you again. Black Ghost Knife breeding? That's quite an accomplishment, good for you! I'd love to hear more about that.
We always like to have more choices of where to find fish, especially when you breed many of them in-store. I'll have Jay (CACAdmin) contact you about sponsoring - if he left me in charge of the bank, we'd be broke. I design the banners (except for the Coral Mag one) so I'll be in touch about that part. Thanks for your support!

That is a big challenge to breed the black ghost kinfe fish . They are very interested. They laid eggs on grass mat. In 60 hours to 72 hours the eggs hatch, the fry had egg yolk . In 2 days later they are free swimmng we fed live mirco worms in 2 or 3 days old fry take live baby brineshrimp.
Next we will try to breed with clown loaches that is most diffuctly to breed. I heard that someone bred the clown loach in england if it s true.
We will try to breed the anxlotis I have two proven breeding pairs. I think they will spawn this fall.
I like to challenge to breed many diffrent diffuctly fish.

If your water is anything like mine, it's ideal for spawning Clown Loaches. Practical Fishkeeping reported on three spawns but only two were proven with pictures.
British Breeder 1996 Spawning - Not photo documented. (http://www.practicalfishkeeping.co.uk/pfk/pages/show_article.php?article_id=556)
British Breeder 2007 - Photo documented (http://www.practicalfishkeeping.co.uk/pfk/pages/item.php?news=1429).
Russian Breeder 2008 - Photo documented. (http://www.practicalfishkeeping.co.uk/pfk/pages/item.php?news=1633)
Please don't feed your fish canned dog & cat food like the first guy did  .
Congratulations on the spawns. Keep up the good work! We need more hobbyists to work on the fish that literature says hasn't been spawned or is difficult to spawn. We learn so much more when we spawn a fish.
Do you have pictures of the baby Ghosts?

I don't know about the knife fish but I have been advised that oscars need not cost much to feed because they will gladly eat dog food. I never did buy an oscar but that was "common knowledge" back in the 70s.

Oh they'll eat it no problem, but mammal fat is next to impossible for them to digest properly and it's full of salt. Of course, the vitamin supplementation and formulation overall is completely inappropriate - no wonder the poor things had 'hole in the head disease'. Beefheart is used because it has so little fat. I don't feed that either, but many swear by it.
