Into the toilet ...

I feel sick. My red Lyretails have bounced back fairly well but the white (albino by appearance) female that caused all of the trouble just didn't seem to want to get better. She was still covered with ich and everything else. I removed her from the hospital tank tonight and down the toilet she went. My 5 yr old (Jordon) saw me "fishing her out" of the tank and asked me what I was told. I had to tell him that she was going to another "hospital tank" to help her get better. He believed me but I feel AWFUL!! I did everything I could to try and make her better, it's been weeks and she seems to be totally disease prone. Could it be a genetic thing??? Can a fish be genetically prone to disease? Everyone else is almost back to normal and I didn't want to risk them if she's not going to get better. Didn't want to risk the fry either.

She was weakened by something or other, but Albinos are also known to be weaker, yes.

Well that totally sucks !

I suppose it could simply be a matter of the fish being so sick it wouldn't get better, or maybe some other sickness may have been preventing it from healing.

Either way, still sucks !

Sorry to hear she didn't make it. Glad though that the other two are recovering.

I did Mel. I won't go into how, but it was instant. I wouldn't have the heart to drop her in the toilet alive. That would make me feel even worse.
