That shrimpy has compound eyes - like an insect

Whereas the cephlapods had pinhole eyes

These developed in the Devonian Period and evolved through Jurassic and lower Cretaceous.
I enjoy completely differing approaches to the same end.
There are still shrimp around there are still mullosks around. Both systems work.

Intesting how creatures have evolved. When it comes to eyes and how differently from humans that creature see, I find it's one of the more difficult concepts for me to truly imagine.
