Bought a pair of these from Garyof Montreal.

Started collecting eggs today.

Fish are amazing aren't they? They travel across the country and then spawn like nothing has happened (just doing what comes naturally, I guess  ). Hope you get lots of eggs from them.

Here, they run at very close to 14 days, never longer. Straight up water incubation, really good hatch rates. All the eggs you miss hatch too, and the parents leave the fry alone. The tank that pair was in is full of young right now. All that, and they're pretty too.

this is a fun little project. Moved the pair in to a new 5 gallon tank, that IMMEDIATELY turned in to a green water tank.... I can't even usually see them in it, it's so green. Now I kept it, because I like the green water! They stopped laying for a bit though.

I have 7 fry, and just started collecting some eggs again yesterday...

I wonder if heat has anything to do with it. My A. nigerianums stop spawning when the temp gets too high.

could be Vince, but I think it is more related to switching tanks on them, general water condition change and shock and awe! haha!

I do know my newly hatched baby bettas are loving the green water! I scoop out about a small margarine container of it every day for feeding them. I have to be careful I don't scoop up any stealth hatched striatums though, or the baby bettas become food!

The first 7 that hatched are doing great. Have about 20 eggs eyed up, and 5 newly hatched.

added my name to the title of this, so as to not confuse with Vince's thread. haha! As Vince and I swap or obtain the same fish, that is likely to happen more and more!

lol, we could start our own TFH style breeding contest.

Except that you would win, I don't think It would be very much competition.

I'm sure we could figure out some handicapping system to have a fair contest if you really wanted one.

I'm not that much of a competitor. My favorite sport (golf) tends to be one that I compete with myself on. But if you wanted to figure something out, I could go along with you for fun!

Maybe restrict to x amount of tanks, so that I could only count what had been bred in certain tanks... Or restrict it to bettas and Tetras... then you'd surely win! haha!

randomly, I never seem to have completed this BAP.

Started collecting eggs again this week. I have 5 females and 1 male (and man is he ever happy! I swear he is smiling when I look at him)
