Scott Dowd from the New England Public Aquarium talks about Buying a Fish and Saving a Tree.

In a nutshell, the premise is that sustainable local collection of ornamental aquarium fish can support communities and help keep out logging and gold mining.

Blogtalk radio (http://www.blogtalkradio.com/wm-aquaculture/2011/05/21/buy-a-fish-save-a-tree) broadcast from Trail, BC.

Thanks for sharing that talk. "Buy a Fish, Save a Tree" is a project we here at CAC have supported via yearly donations to Vancouver Aquatic Hobbyest Society (http://vahs.ca/)'s Monster Fall Auctions from which proceeds go Project Piaba (http://finarama.com/projectpiaba/).

Not late to the party. When I said we at CAC, what I actually should have said is that Melody and I have donated items on behalf of CAC at the auction.

a worthy endeavor. I'd love to donate some fish the next time 'round.
