well finally today, the fish in the pond seem to have some life. They have been so dosile this year, as the low temps have been down below 12 degrees, they haven't been eating much when I feed them. Usually the water will boil with them when I throw food in, this summer they are not that anxious to eat. there are a few fry, so obviously some of the spring was condusive to breeding. haven't had to add any water this year, today the pond seems to be down an inch, so I may run the hose in it for awhile, although I don't want to cool the pond down anymore than it is.

My brother isn't too far from you and many of his food crops are virtually nothing this year. Over night temps are too low.

It certainly is a strange year weatherwise, Don. Glad to hear that the koi are finally starting to perk up. You can't blame them as they probably think summer is just beginning.

Sorry to hear your brother's crops are doing so poorly this year, Storm. I have to say, I can't recall a summer that has been so cool, and wet since I moved here 40 years ago. There have been late-starters or soggy ones, but nothing like this one. And those years, when the warm weather arrived, it was really HOT from then on. Our days are already getting shorter, so nights are bound to start cooling off before long (not that they've warmed up to be able to cool off. )

^^bro decided to let the animals have the garden this year. There be robins hopping for blueberries, bears hugging the raspberries...

I think he needs to sit back with the camera. He might get some great shots of creatures indulging.

I'm sure it has been hard on the local crops, I know my greenhouse and garden are doing very poorly this year. As I said, nightime lows have been no higher than 12. Brrr.
Added some water to the pond today, and forgot to shut it off, so its even cooler now. I had to many Koi in the house tank that were just getting too big, I have been cleaning the tank every other day, so the 2 biggest went into the pond today and were eating right away. So, hoping for a warm August, will get some new pictures soon.
I went fishing at the local Lake here on Sunday evening, seems the fish aren't biting there either.
