I have 1 little platy that was born 3 or4 weeks ago, it is a blue but I can't see any of the mickey mouse markings that the parents have. If it is a mickeymouse should you see the markings right away?

I don't know about blues but any others you can usually see the Mickey Mouse markings pretty much right away... if your eyesight is good enough when they're really tiny. ;) At this age, if you don't see them I'd say it's not a Mickey Mouse.

Blues color up late and mature slow, so that might influence what you are / are not seeing. Just a guess  . The Mickey Mouse markings aren't always a perfect Mickey Mouse silhouette either, so you may just have a more faded version or one that is shaped differently.

LOL Well then he/she is special with or without the MM pattern:smile: . Odds are for you unless the female was hit by a non-Micky Mouse male before you got her.

Ya I think she was hit before I got her. I know it's going to be a few months before I can know for sure I am getting my own adults mated fry.

Well that's the good thing about Platy's. Unlike other common Livebearers, they'll take the last insemination rather than spitting out babies from an unknown mate for months. If she didn't have another male, she'd then use the storeage. The next batch should be from yours.
