Ok. I feel like I've just taken the training wheels off, and moved to the big time!

Please feel free to critique my listing. Obviously the picture sucks, but I don't really even expect to get any bids on this, so not that worried about it.

thanks for your input!

Dan

Hahaha, I've been thinking about these fish for months now. But I kept forgetting that I wanted to go back an look at your thread in the breeding projects.

It's actually a really good pic except for all the stuff on the glass. You can clearly see three specimens and a lot more in the background so people will know they are successful and prolific.

Cool! I wouldn't have apologized for the picture, the fish are in focus and you can clearly see what it is. Better than a lot of aquabid pictures by far! As for the water spots, anyone complaining about it is a hypocrite... its like saying their fart don't stinks. Show me a fish tank, and I will show you water spots.

I was tempted myself, so that's not surprising.

EDIT: HOLY MOLEY!!! It's been bumped 2 more times, tripling the price. Congratz!

Thanks. GaryofMontreal has explained to me that the real bidding starts in the last couple minutes of the auction, which is in about 20 minutes. Will be interesting to see if anyone takes a last minute run at it. 3 bidders working on it now. It's kind of funny! haha!

Congrats! Great to have that kind of response first time round!

Yeah, that was a sweet listing. The last time I checked, you were buying us all beer, shipped to our doors!

It's weird - but I always get lampeyes cheap on Aquabid. The katangae are rare, but not popular. I've never seen a price war for any lampeye, and they often go without bids. People have no taste.
I paid $8 for my Procatopus aberrans. It's crazy.

I thought Vince was going to get his katangae eggs this weekend, but at the last minute a couple of guys swooped in and ran them up to $16

Next batch is your Vince! haha! I won't like them on Aquabid till I've gotten a good batch to you and Gary.

Actually I like beer with caesar chasers..... Congrats Dan on the success of your auctions. The more canadian sellers on aquabid, the betta....

Interestingly, I got email from a fellow saying he wasn't able to raise his bid because he was 'on the road' when the auction closed, and asked if I would sell him some eggs directly. I replied that I have a backlog of people wanting these eggs, and would list them again in 3-4 weeks. It's all true, but funny to be creating market frenzy on them.

I wonder why the he/she fish got so much attention... If they were people, I bet they wouldn't get the same treatment lol

Fun, isn't it? I just sold my first fish on Aquabid this month. I also got my very first flaming email. "Know your fish before listing here" the writer screamed in CAPS. He had his fish mixed up, but it was exciting, anyway. Like I'd arrived:-)

Really? Sorry to hear that he blamed/flamed you......did you try to explain to him that he had gotten mixed up?

Ursus, you really "arrive" when you have to ban someone. I sold one guy a plant that was mis-identified by my supplier(but the pic on aquabid was of that plant). He didn't even give me time to respond before he'd complained to aquabid and paypal:realmad: . I refunded all his money(including shipping, all of fourteen dollars I think) right away and then banned him:yes: . And he didn't understand why:no:

You're the rock star I want to be lol

Silvak, I gently pointed out that he was confused, provided links to back up my assertion, and suggested he "know his fish" before annonymously flaming others. He never even said thank you for the links, either.

Nice finesse Fishclubgirl!

Well, I bet he'll think twice before doing that again. And thinking before acting is always a good choice. I myself need reminders now and then.
