I have no idea if these fish I picked up are ready for breeding yet, but i'm conditioning them like any other anabantoid. Except that I kept more water in the tank than normal and i've got them in a 20 gallon.

I've read that these fish are escape arists so I wanted them to be absolutely covered in guppy grass and the water level way down so they had to really jump high to get out. I also placed half of a styro cup in the tank.

So far, i've seen lots of bubble nests, but haven't seen any action yet. These fish are incredibly shy, so getting a decent pic of them is almost impossible since they really only come out when the light is minor and indirect.

Here are a couple pics of what I believe is a male and a female. Sorry for the blurr. ;)

Male?

Cool that you're seeing lots of bubble nests. Either they are ready for breeding or the male is just practicing. Hopefully, the latter.
