I have been having a heck of a time keeping my P bridgesii snails alive. I have lost a number of them over the last few weeks and the 7 I have remaining are not moving and show no interest in food. The gH and kH were a little low the last time I checked but not low enough that there is any shell erosion. All water parameters are fine and as far as I can tell the other fish are not picking on them. I have German rams in this tank that should be far more susceptible to any poor water conditions but they are doing just fine. I'm stumped. Any thoughts?

I'm somewhat at a loss too. Have you added anything to the tank (any meds?) that might have contained copper? You could try checking at applesnail.net (http://www.applesnail.net) for possible answers.

No, no meds or anything containing copper has been added. Even when they were in with my red cherry shrimp they were dying but the shrimp were fine.

German Rams would be my guess - the snails will hide in their shell and starve to death if they're being picked on. Rams probably pack a good bite, unlike nippy Swordtails, so they may be doing some damage.

Otherwise the only two nasties that usually have that much of an effect, are copper or Chloramines.
