I well be starting the first of 2 plywood tanks this weekend. I well be getting the wood and getting the glass for my angle tank. 3’x4’x30”. It well be the 7th tank in the fish room, and the run through before I start the 720 gallon in wall tank over x-mass. I’ll keep this up to date with prices and pics. Can’t wait. ::D:

If I ever end up in a place that can handle a large tank I've seriously considered a plywood tank. Budget friendly on larger tanks.......comparatively speaking.

They are... I'm also getting my glass for a discounted price because the shop has had it there for about a year and can't sell it because of the thickness::D: . I don’t know if the well have enough to do the 8’x4’ one thought so that kind of sucks lol

Can't wait to see this come together. One idea if they don't have a large enough piece for the 8 x 4 you could create 2 "windows" into the tank instead of one.

The first I ever heard of one was when another member built a river tank (http://www.canadianaquariumconnection.com/forum/showthread.php?t=529) a number of years ago.
I'm eager to watch Wes build this one and see his approach.

Just an update
Due to the 60 knot winds and 70mm of rain didn’t get to pick up the wood this weekend. I’ll be getting it Tues or Wed after work, the glass shop was closed Fri do to Remembrance Day. So I got set back a week I guess. I get my internet hooked up in the 24th so I well be adding some pics of the fish room as it sits right now. Also had to pick up a new tank this weekend cause someone was selling a 50 gallon for 70$ couldn’t say no lol.

Sorry to hear of the delays but when Mother Nature steps in there is nothing we can do about it. We'll try to be patient. Also had to pick up a new tank his weekend cause someone was selling a 50 gallon for 70$ couldn’t say no lol.
Had to? :skeptical:  You're definitely showing symptoms of MTS (multiple tank syndrome).

I'm not in a rush but it would have been nice to get it. I would like to get all the stuff I need before the snow comes. I have 30 days off for x-mass and would like to get the first one finished. I didn't think you could say no to a tank tha size for that price

I'm excited to see this project! Also you're right it's near impossible to turn down a good deal on a tank, I tried to buy a 100g for $100 but the guy had sold it by the time I called.

He works at a glass shop 4 blocks away so it was only 2 blocks away from the route he normally goes home.
The problem mow is to figure out where I can put a 4 ft tank.

My new 50 was not apart of the org. design, so I’ll have to find a spot for one as well lol.

The glass should have been here two weeks ago, and they got the wrong size so, now I have to do a slight change to the tank, just turn it on it's side and change the over flosw... and cut a hole in what well now be the top, and put another side on. I hope I have enough rubber left

What a shame... and after all that work. Frustrating when things go awry through no fault of your own. I certainly hope you have enough liquid rubber to make this all work out. Best of luck!

Another update; the first water test did not go so well. I filled it half way up and let it set for a week to fine out that I have a bad seal on the bottom corner. I’m waiting for it to dry so I can reseal the glass and run the test again.

wow that looks great so far, sorry to hear about the small leak, I am sure you will get it fixed up and be ready to fill again.

Sorry to hear you ran into issues with a leak... but better to discover it now than later. This tank building requires a lot of patience, I think... probably more than I have. We'll await the next water test and keep fingers crossed it all goes well second time around.
