So i grabbed myself 10 ghost shrimp and 3 black mystery snails. Mainly because i have this white slimy stuff on my new wood and I'm not sure if either will eat it but its worth a shot.

So anyway, I was cleaning my glass with a magnet cleaner as i do every few days and it freaked the shrimp out. So much so one actually jumped out of the water and stuck himself to the black rim at the top of the tank. I didn't want to hirt him so i used a syringe that i use for water testing to gently pour water on him so "unstick" the little guy. What a dumb little animal. He did it twice and i decided to stop my cleaning. I hope its just a once off because they're new to the tank. But at 99c each i guess intelligence can't be a trait :P

That's priceless that he actually jumped right out of the water. One would think by instinct that he'd jump back in but as you say he's not necessarily the brightest critter. Good thing you spotted him.

It looked like he was stuck, like wet toilet paper to a ceiling. It was hard to see. I just saw the legs dangling down. Next time i clean the glass I'll have the camera ready. Maybe they dropped the box these guys got delivered in :P

not a lot of aquarium lids in the wild:-) Jumping is a good way to avoid predators, when you live in a stream.

First they get out and the tough ones survive. Soon your house is overrun with ghosts. In 20,000 years they have thumbs, lots of thumbs, and they endlessly text your great great great great great great grandchildren.
Leaving the water's not as dumb as it might look...

If that little guy kinda does that one cue when you use the magnet...see if you can catch a vid of him jumping and throw in on youtube !
