In Van. Friday~good fish stores to go to?

I'm heading through Vancouver on Friday from Horseshoe Bay. I want to stop at Rainforest Pets to see if they have any female lyre swords. I see Melody lucked out at another pet store over there, lucky girl!!

Any others worth going to? Not a ton of driving to way out places so if any of you have info, would be greatly appreciated.

Rainforest did have some but they didn't look that great as of last week. My favourite LFS are J&L Aquatics (no FW fish) and King Ed Pet Center (for supplies only, I wouldn't buy livestock there).

Yes, I used to buy all my corals and fish from JL when I had my salt tank. I've heard King Ed is good for supplies only. Good to know about Rainforest, I should maybe call them before starting to travel that way.

Yeah but I looked long and hard for those colors, including trying to order them from the States last year but they were sold out. I paid my dues I tell you! :laugh:

Kramer's sometimes has them but they're at Surrey Place Mall & they didn't have them a few weeks ago when I was there. They usually have healthy stock though. 604-588-1719

I've been nagging Paul at Pacific Aquatics (http://www.pacificaquatics.ca) about them & other Livebearers. He ships so if he let's me know they're there at some point, I'll post. They're often not in stock from the wholesalers, so even when he tries he can't get them.

We're not sticky on sections, etc - there's bigger things to worry about ;) . Its just fine here, but thanks for your concern.

Yes, just livebearers, both female lyre swords and female platies. Home bred is sooo much better though. I'll keep looking.

Last time I was in king ed's the prices had been jacked up, probly trying to pay for the renovation. Stuff was actually cheaper down the way at BA's burnaby:err:
