One of my females who looks ready to drop, is charging anything that moves in the tank over the past 2 days. She's normally a cranky ol gal and a bit of a bully but has never been this nasty. Could this be a sign that she may be close to dropping??? I was wondering if she was trying to clear a space for herself for privacy??? I haven't seen any of them act quite this rough. Even her.
Thanks:smile:

How was your mood when you were heavily pregnant? lol
Looking at the time span since you first posted, I don't think she's ready, but I could be wrong. They'll usually do that right before they're going go drop, but not for days, in my experience.
Swordtails are a fiesty fish. The Platy in them has done wonders for their temperament, but it still comes through reasonably often. There was a time when you couldn't keep two male Swordtails in the same tank.

It's 4-5 weeks approx right???? There must be quite a few fry in there, they look like they're ready to pop!!! Both bellies are quite square. How long does that usually last?
Thanks:yes:

Swordtails are horrible creatures for that. Even with all of the pregnant females I've seen, I still think they're going to pop any minute for two weeks...lol. Mine always look huge for at least that long before I see fry. But yes, for all intents & purposes, there should be 30-45 days between births.

Little buggers aren't they:laugh: . Hey , after all i've been through with these two, I'm just glad they are alive and kicking and still have their fry. But I agree with your earlier conspiracy theory... they're plotting against us... he he he...
Have to go paint the house now... yuck:twitcy: wish me luck.

Good luck, and don't forget to cover the tanks with garbage bags!

As someone who would forget that in all of the work involved with painting, I thought I'd mention it...lol...I'm horrible for that kind of thing.
By the way, when I first read the title of this thread, I thought your swordtail was charging money. There's laws against that you know. :wideeyed:
