I'm finally home and had the first chance of taking some pics of these guys.
I was also very surprised to find at least 4 Ameca Splenden fry skipping along the gravel going after the micro bites! along with at least 3 platy fry.

Unknown fry - i dunno what this is...could be ameca, orange tailed goodied, or swordtail...i have no idea

there are also limia triden but they're impossible to photograph

They're beautiful! Let us know how the A. Splendens temperament is as time goes along, if you would please. Seems to be a situational thing to a point, so I'm curious.

Very pretty! :yes: As for 'unknown fry'... it's so much fun watching to see what they turn out to be. Enjoy! (glad to hear a few platy fry made it.)

You joke - but i'm tempted!
especially setting up the 55g for the wilds. I really enjoy the Ameca's they have a lot of personality, quite interactive too.

Yes, the Amecas are not the prettiest fish around, but lots of attitude and lots of personality !

If you get them under the right light, nothing beats their sparkle. I've never seen a fish with reflective scales to that degree.
