Moved you to the hospital to make sure the right eyes see you Sarah, hope you don't mind.

Do you have pictures of the Cory by chance? How long has the tank been set up? What is your maintenance schedule? Have you tested recently? Has there been any other sick fish in the tank recently?

Pop-eye is usually due to injury, a secondary infection or tank conditions, hence the 20 questions, sorry.

hi melody
didnt even think of the ER.. just panicked and wrote for help! I clean once a week, w/ vaccum/gravel. the parameters are good.. my bristle nose pleco died yesterday, he jammed itself into a small decoration.. im pretty sure he died of stress.. ididnt even think he could get into it. :( and then i removed him rihgt away. the tank has been up since last sept.. it's quite possble he got hurt.. i've been doing a lot of rearranging for the guppy fry in the tank... I'll try and get a picture.. he's really little.. and it's hard to get a good picture. but i'll try to get one up asap!!

The first steps are the same regardless - extra clean conditions, extra water changes. You may want to isolate him if you can, just in case. Do you have a tank you can quarantine him in?

Well your resident fish can only benefit from the extra waterchanges anyway. If it comes down to medicating, then you'll want to move him. You can rig up a box filter or come get mine if necessary.... granted with today's gas prices you'd probably do better to buy one close to you  . Offer stands anyway.

Melafix will keep the bacteria levels down a bit, so I'm sure it didn't hurt. Glad to hear he's doing better! I'd continue to do extra water changes until he's completely healed and you should be good to go from there.
