Ok ok I feel guilty already. All you folks talking about these fish being schoolers and how unhappy they are alone (little did I know) and here I was with one lonely albino in my 15 gal:realmad: . (My bad)... so I just got back from shopping (thanks guys/gals) . I now have 6 new additions to my aquarium family. I purchased 2 new albino buddys for my 1 lonely soul in the 15 gal and another 4 bronze cory's for my 25 gal. I still need some for my 20 and my 10 so it sounds like I'll be doing a trade with the guy on www.usedvictoria.com (http://www.usedvictoria.com) for some of his. I'm not going to end up with these spawning on me am I??? That would be something else;) . I have to admit though, they are VERY amusing and comical as a group.

It is our pleasure to validate your addiction. ::D:

If you don't plan to spawn them, most or all of the eggs get eaten.

They are so cute. Last night when I put the new cory's in the tanks they all scattered in different directions. This morning they were all huddled picking at the gravel over each other.

Especially after they eat, the entire group will often play up, down & around the glass - follow the leader...lol...its fun to watch. They should be most active in the evening and morning.

Is that what that is. I used to watch my adult Albino Cory dive up and down the glass from bottom to surface and back. I was wondering what the heck he was doing. The albinos seem to be sticking close together but the bronze's appear to always be at opposite ends of the tank???? They seem to be happy and confident though

When they dart to the surface, they're going for air. Otherwise he was probably doing his Cory thing.

They don't school exactly, they're more social than anything else, from what I've seen. They do group when they're threatened or sleeping as a rule, but will scavenge separately.

Can I put 3 Cory's in a 10 gal temporarily until I get my 20 together??? It's only for about a week.

Yup, 3 cories in a 10G is fine. I've had 6 Pandas in quarantine in a 10G and they seemed to do just fine.

Actually I QT all my new fish additions in a 10g tank, for 6 weeks. Cories do fine in 10g, I have often though about adding some dwarf cories into a 10g, but I have pretty much promised that tank to some dwarf puffers, so I would rather not risk the cories...

Cory's actually prefer more shallow waters in the wild (or those I've read about anyway). That isn't a space issue so much, but they'd probably be happier in a small group in a 10G than in a 120G, type thing. As long as they have that open space along the glass to play in, they're appear to be happy.
