Greetings from Sapperton;
I'm new to the site and while reviewing the classifieds saw your ad from last November selling Purple Applesnails.
Are you still selling snails and if so would you have a few available? I have 5 young blue & gold (dime size) and would like to add other colours to my tanks.
I also have one adult gold female that I would love to get a clutch from so I'm trying to find her a mate.
Cheers
Ray

Pond Season is just around the corner. ::D:
Thinking of adding snails to your pond?
http://www.canadianaquariumconnection.com/jb_images/marisa-s.jpg
Are you looking for some little janitors to keep the algae in check? Marisas make excellent pond snails. They'll work tirelessly to keep the algae in your pond under control. Although they do eat vegetation, they will generally only nibble on some of the young tender shoots or small roots of plants. They will also dine on decaying vegetation. The larger leaves of your pond plants are generally too tough to be on the menu. In fact last year, I kept them in a pond with water lettuce and water hyacinth and the plants were not impacted... in fact the plants grew and multiplied so well, I was giving some away.
Unlike some other members of Applesnail family, marisas have a greater temperature range tolerance making them an excellent choice for your pond. According to applesnail.net, they do best at a range of 18 to 28°C (65-82°F). They can tolerate the cooler nights, however, they will die within 24 hours at a temp of 11°C (51.8°F). At higher temps, they will still act normally up to 35.5°C (95.9°F)
Picture and details of price and availability can be found in the initial post of this thread. PM me if interested. T(h)anks!:smile:

I think Marisas are the ideal pond snail - some of the others eat plants more voraciously and the non-plant-eaters need higher temps. :yes: They're a fave of mine regardless - they look tres cool.
