Angelfish, graceful, elegant, colourful, and HUGE!

Look at these guys! My brother’s girlfriend gave them to me after she took down her 30gallon tank. I am in love with them. The standard fish marble measures about 5.5” tip to tip. The long fin measures avout 7” tip to tip, but that is mostly finnage. The standard fin one is actually bigger than the long fin when it comes to body size.

I also bought a little one at my LFS a few weeks back. I really think it is neat too.

Here is the little guy:

Nice girl! Lucky you! They're gorgeous creatures. I have a thing for finnage and that long-fin is tempting me far too much. :wideeyed:

Yuck, tell you the honest to goodness truth. I HATE longfin species. I was really sceptical about taking that angel, might try to find it a new home just because it doesnt fit in my tank...

Beautiful Angels I had one but she harrassed my Dwarf Rainbows too much now she is at my brothers eating his full sized platies. ::D: Nice tank by the way.

Sadly, i lost the two largest angels. They got a really weird body fungus and just dropped dead the next day. No other fish were affected, and water was perfect. I called this one a stress related death. I miss them dearly. They were great fish.

I'm sorry to hear that you lost them. Very strange - could your pH etc been quite different than hers?

That was what i think caused the stress, you see, she had decorative sea shells in her tank which im sure would boost the pH, but i have driftwood galore which lowers it. I acclimated for over 3 hours! i would have thought that would be plenty. Guess not :(

Little guy is great, growing fast. Thanks for asking

Sometimes, it's harding moving when they are bigger. They stress more, I think. But glad to hear the little guy is doing great. It won't be long before he'll be that size.
