So I have these lovely new Cana's from Blaine (thanks!). My other Cana's are solid gold with a light foot. Blaine's are ... well I don't know what color they are...lol...they appear to have a gold shell base and they all had lotsa spots when I got them. Now they've grown... A LOT... and some have pretty much lost the spots or they're faded. The smaller ones still have some.
These R them :;): ...
When I first got them (The pic is way too dark, but you can see the spots):

That was then, this is now (top one is the smallest - still young):

I haven't had Cana's for long - swore I'd never own them in fact, because they're in stores and I don't have a lot of plantless tank space. Then I saw some gold ones and decided I had to try some. Then Blaine's looked gold so I had to have some of those too. My own worst enemy, I am.
So what I would like to know, is where these guys are going with their colour. Its time to put them in with the Golds and get some eggs, but I don't want dark feet. Blaine's are darker than mine, but not extremely so. I also would prefer to have as many solid golds as possible, so I'd like to know where the shell color is going too.
It looks like the top one, which is quite a bit smaller, will be the darkest of the three I kept as breeders, and he also has the least gold tone to the shell. The lightest is on the bottom, with the other being somewhere between the two.
Anyone have any educated guesses? I know there are a few here who have grown them out so I thought maybe you had seen this type of coloring before.
Thanks!
