We just don't do enough Guppy talking around here! I love the little things - their colour & finnage keeps this genetics-fanatic endlessly amused. I've gotten completely out of them a couple of times during my fish-keeping career, but I always get back into them. I've bred the show quality strains but frankly, I have a thing for mutts and crossing this with that, so the strains bore me eventually.
Awhile back, the lovely Mrs. BC Kron brought me bunches of Guppies. I kept my faves and passed some along to others, which is always fun. Then Mr. GP accidentally ended up with a lone Guppy fry, so he brought it here where it would have company. I thought I'd show off what I'd inherited, now that they've matured a bit.
Mrs. BC Kron, two of your males ended up as my breeders, the second of which is just barely breeder size and doesn't have his full finnage yet, but the colors & leopard pattern are amazing. The mature green one is unique, with his lime green coloration extending into his tail, and he has the most beautifully unique tail pattern I've ever come across. Spots on the top, and black streaking on the bottom which combined with his tail colours, brings flames to mind. Its hard to catch it on camera though, because he's always mid-flip....lol. Although he's an adult, he won't get his full finnage length until he's completely mature.
The big guy:

Then we have the other BC_Kron male, still a juvie. His coloring and the big leopard spots on brilliant yellow, orange and red are going to be stunning. He looks like he's going to get the black streaking towards the bottom of the tail too, but one never knows. He also has cobra stripes on the body. You can already see his potential:

Whatever happened to Mr. GP's Guppy?! Well he has made the breeder male cut too, in another tank. He's another unique one, although the camera doesn't quite pick it up.
His tail is a vivid red/dark orange with gold streaks going through it. His tux is dark blue with sparkling mauve at the top. There is a thin strip of deep orange running along his back, going into a blotch of deep orange in front of the tux. His dorsal is the coolest shade of dark appricot, with about 3/4 outlined in yellow, and the front quarter outlined in white. The front of his tux on his body is white, and his lower finnage is white. All of the white has just a touch of ice blue. He's still young so he doesn't have his full finnage length yet, but he's already breeding. The pic's could be better but you'll get the general idea.

Stunners to be sure, but the credit goes to Mrs. BC_Kron & Mr. Grandpoohbah. I think Mr. GP said he got the Guppy from Oleg, whom the BC crowd probably knows. Excellent fishkeepers, the lot of 'em!
