I found this little guy climbing the glass of the nursery tank. It does seem to have spots on it's shell and can it move! It really prefers to spend most of it's time on the glass than anywhere else. Sorry pictures are so big, I'm not use to posting pics.

Physid, and unless you want a lot of them, get it out....lol. The spotted ones are rather pretty really, but they get ugly very fast if you have a population explosion. With 'good' snails, its difficult not to feed pests enough to cause an explosion, although I do find that Applesnails will out-compete them for food, it takes an Army of Applesnails to do it. Otherwise, if they're not fed enough to become a problem, they don't do any harm, clean up leftovers, etc.

After I got a couple of physids in my tank from my friends tank, I grew to like them :) I like their speckled gray bodies and antennae. Believe it or not they have not taken over my tank, the few are getting bigger but I think there are so much fish in my community tank that like to eat that they don't get much food. There are more pest rams, but they are too small for me to get rid of

I've got to say I've become a huge fan of snails, including 'pest' snails. They all do a fantastic job of keeping my tanks clean.

If there gets to be to many, a small zuchini ( spelling ?) sliced lenghtwise in the tank for about an hour and most of the snail population will be easily lifted out of the tank.

I scrape the snails off the slices into my community tank and my clown loaches and crayfish get to have snacks. ;)
