Soon! I can see the tips of Peonies and Tiger Lilies coming up from the mulch - rhubarb and strawberries too. Yea! Dandelions  Boo.

I suppose the tulips are already blooming in BC?

Perhaps, the only tulips that are blooming in Ontario are the one's in a vase that my boyfriends Dad brought over when he came for dinner last week.

PS

If you keep snails, they love blanched dandelion leaves. :)

Spring? Spring? Even here on the west coast we get a day or two, and then it's back to the cold, wet weather (like today). Even on the few sunny warm days, the wind is still cold. :( Spring will eventually arrive... we hope:wideeyed: Here, of course, flowers have been out in bloom for ages.:BOLTS:

I've already cut my lawn once and it needs it again  . It has been a very long Winter though, even here in British California.

GASP. . . :FishOnDaHead: to you both!

Hey! How about a tulip report from Nova Scotia! Be aware, though, if it's TOO good, I'll feel morally obligated to give you one of these :FishOnDaHead:

I have a pic from 2005 of my backyard trees and they were in full bloom to a point that some were starting to fade, on April 5th. Today they're just starting to flower nicely, so we're definitly late around here.

Don't hate me because my weather is beautiful. These were taken this morning...

Nothing can beat NS Tulips, but mine are all the way up now, if that counts....

One box of Benadryl coming right up! I get mild alergies this time of year too, but nothing like the true sufferers endure. :hugs:

 You want snow? Careful what you wish for... didn't I hear your company is opening an office in Inuvik???

Melody

Man if you can go to Inuvik, GO! The land of opportunity and outrageous amounts of money. Do a few years on the inside, save every cent you can, and you could own a house by the time you get back - under 5 years. Its quite an experience overall.

Off to buy something to scan an suspicious packages which might arrive in the mail... :wideeyed: somehow I don't think anything arriving from Ontario will be longjohns from Ms. Pameljo (who still might need them fi this weather keeps up.:;): )... more likely snail poop.

Jay is making me post this. Honest. :Whip:

Although we may have a shower or two this evening, temps are hitting around 14 or 15c. Monday will be sunny and 16c, and its always a degree or two higher where I am than the weatherman says..

Finally got the lawn mowed yesterday. ::D:

I made you post that, Melody??? :NoWay: Now if I knew I had that much influence over you...... I wonder how I might put that to use?

As far as you Ontario ladies are concerned, that makes 3 women who've already given me digs about how sunny and warm it is there. :( At least the first one was my sister who at least suggested it was too bad I couldn't join her and sit out in the yard and have a glass of wine.

Chicken, eh? Hmmm! :nah: I think not. I'm just biding my time keeping you guessing what I'll post next. (and waiting for that mail scanning device to arrive to be on the safe side. :;): )

Pamelajo
Apr 21st 2007, 07:23 PM
Your sister lives in Ontario. where abouts?
Now the chicken was only if you told Mel to post. So if you didn't there is no need to get your longjohns in knot.

LOL Well I suppose you Ontarians deserve that nice weather. I guess you showed me! I admit defeat.:Surrender:

Actually, what I was doing was being my usual angelic self. I posted so you could come back and get the best of me. I knew it was nicer there all along. I let Jay take the credit because as you know, I'm a shy little thing.

Well, folks, I hear it's 22 and sunny in parts of Ontario today. It looks like you folks have skipped Spring and jumped right into Summer. Here I wake up to rain and 10 degress... supposed to be sunny (maybe) and 14 this afternoon.

It's all right, you deserve it. You've put up with some really miserable weather this year. Just don't keep all the nice weather for yourselves, OK?

Well, it finally arrived this weekend. Wasn't it wonderful, 22 and sunny with no cold wind. I spent as much time as possible out of doors working in the gardens. It seemed like we went from winter to summer overnight - but we know it will not last. We can only hope!!!!

Soon we'll all be complaining about the heat! I walked two shipments to the post office today, which involves a good hike and a hill - I had to turn the fan on when I got back.

Halfway is a Tim Hortons Icecap, but I resisted. Figured if I was that hot & out of breath, I probably didn't need the calories...lol.
