Look who showed up for dinner tonight! The Starlight BN's have always been the most shy Plecos I've owned, and this little girl is the most shy of all. I see her as she scoots back into the cave and that's about it. Tonight she stuck around for some reason - didn't want to let go of the food I guess.
Please excuse the snail graveyard...lol...I keep the shells in the tank to disolve into the water column. Not the most attractive thing in the world, but it works.

She's sure pretty... a good size too so obviously even if you don't see much of her she's getting more than enough to eat. As for sticking around, maybe she decided you've been taking all these pics and she wanted to 'star' in at least one of them. :;):

She's a widow actually. But yes, when he was around, nobody bothered him. Such gentle giants though - I've seen more aggression in a Cory..lol. The most they do is position their body over the food & flare fins, which is what the big guy is doing. The smaller fish would come THIS close to trying to bite him, then back off. You could tell they were sizing him up and thinking twice. Kinda like a Guppy picking a fight with a baby shark.

That must have been cute to watch. I don't see that with my plecos but they are small but they do amuse me by going through the strangest contortions to get at a piece of food which is lodged between some rocks... and they don't give up until they get it.
