I went to the LFS today to get some drift wood. Guess what I came home with. LOL, a pair of Bolivian rams to replace my german blues which recently died.

Gee, I wonder how that happened? Of course, you had no intention of going near the fish tanks, did you? :twitcy:It wasn't your fault that the driftwood was sitting right beside the tank of Bolivian rams. And you probably had some birthday money burning a hole in your pocket, right? With all that pressure, how could you resist?
Very nice fish, BTW... look healthy too!

Jay, have you been stalking me?
The driftwood is literally beside the tank with the bolivians, and i got 100 bucks for my brithday. And it was burning a hole in my pocket.
Although i did plan to look at the tanks, i planned to buy some plants. Why not fish instead?

That's your strory and your sticking to it, right? I'm with you on that one. :;): Glad to hear you got some cash for your birthday... that means the fish were a birthday present to yourself.

They're beautiful - you always get such nice fish. I understand the shopping thing far too well. Soon you'll be trading YOUR fish for store credit!
Congrat's on the new job!:Applaud:

actually, most of the fish i get are rescues. I just raise them to be nice.
These guys weren;t rescues. They are the first of the 6 i plan to get for a breeding colony.
Thanks for the compliments!

I was going to say mature & well-mannered, but I thought it sounded downright motherish....lol.

well, i do get complimented for my manners alot. Like this one time, i had to use the phone in the office at school
I was talking to my mom just like a usual conversation, and when i hung up, the secretary stared at me, and said "that has to be the nicest phonecall i have ever heard in all my years of hearing kids and their phone calls, you didn;t sweat, didn't yell or anything, tell your mother she is doing a bang up job."
I coulden't beleive that... that kids would swear to their parents, it disgusted me.
Anyhow, thanks Melody.

Well you can tell your parents I second that. As for your attitude in general, its funny that some young people think you have to be a mouthy jerk to be tough. When they learn that is not the case, that's when they become a man. If they never do learn it, they'll never be one. I'm glad you found us, you're great to have around and you know your stuff to boot!
To this day if I swore at my Mother, she'd smuck me....lol....might wash my mouth out with soap too. :wideeyed:

I find being nice and polite gets you a long ways, coaches, bosses like having someone who listens even if you don't agree:eek: .
good luck hope they breed mutiply like rabbits for you

lol Even my preteen is allowed to swear with his friends, just not within earshot of adults or kids younger than them.
You got it figured out though - more bees with honey & all that. :;):

they are peaceful until they're guarding eggs...i got attacked by my bolivian's when i wasn't aware of the eggs, once i saw the eggs and watched for awhile - they can get pretty aggressive towards other fish or hands in the tank.
Such great fish though - definately one of my faves!
