Lucky has quite a story behind him. I bought him almost a half a year at the LFS which has VERy disgusting living conditions for fish. He was in a tank with a small kenyii cichlid which ripped him fins up so much that they were almost non existant. He was covered in ick, velvet and had a the frayed fins wer also rotting away. He was hanging in a corning in fear, he was not moving any of his fins whatsoever, just hanging, a little lop sided.
I felt horrible. I couldn't leave him to die and be food for the kenyii, or just rot on the bottom of the tank like most of the fish do in that store. I got the owner to bag him up for me. I paid the full price which was an astronomical amount for a severum if you ask me. I got him into my tank and medicated heavily. Within a week the find were starting to grow back a bit, he he was not dealing with the velvet too well. He hid ALL the time.
Here he is after a week or so.

Now, after the heat treatment, and a little time in a QT rubbermaid bin (lol) he seemed to be doing a little better.
Today Lucky(first name) Marshmallow(middle name) Cod(last name) resides in my 50gallon planted where he gets along with everyone. He made a full recovery and beat the odds. He has at least doubled in size if not more. He is as peaceful as can be, and is my favorite fish.
