These might help a bit more.
This is the one I think may be male as his pattern is more defined:

This one I figure is female because of the more muted pattern, especially on the head, and the fact that she's much more rounded as the second horrible pic shows:

Hey, it'd be easy to make the ID if only you were one of these fish as opposed to being human... the fish probably think it's pretty funny that we can't tell them apart.
Good luck figuring it out... I won't even endeavor to make a guess. But there's bound to be someone around who knows.

I am perfectly capable of sexing my fish, thank you very much! I just don't believe myself when I do it....ROFL. I am considering selling them actually, so I want to be sure of what they are. Might do a profile on them while I'm at it.

these ones always get the best of me.. that darn elegan family and the spotty cory family.. If you don't mind, could I post your pics on a few of my catfish forums to get a second opinion?
I think they could be napoensis, but just want confirmation.
btw.. when and where did you get these guys from?

That's actually where I found out what they were....lol....Catfish forums. They were mixed in with a store shipment. I got three, lost one.
Edit: Feel free to post the pic's again, incidentally, this was a couple of years ago and there are several undescribed species in the category now, so who knows?

Here's another pic. I didn't use it because I took it before and I'm not sure if its the one I lost or the one I think is female now. It may help confirm an ID though.

I've had them for somewhere around a couple of years.

ROUNDED! Don't call her fat, she'll feel unattractive & never breed.

Yours has a whiter base than mine, which I prefer. Mine look almost bronze in the right light. Could be worth checking the ID again. I read somewhere that the black on the dorsal with a clear tail is an indicator, which mine match.
They're pretty common now - someone in a forum mentioned seeing them at Walmart...lol.
