It's a great day and sometimes it's our 'fishy' friends that make it so. It's wonderful when fish hobbyists help each other. Today I received a donation of not one but two absolutely gorgeous fish from Melody... yes I said donations... the lady offered these beautiful fish to me and then refused to take any money for them. Why? Because I'm a nice guy? :nah: then everybody would be giving me fish.:;):

No, she knows what traits I am trying to bring into the lines I am breeding and generously decided to help. Many thanks to Melody :Flowers3:not only for helping out my breeding program but for the enthusiasm that she and so many others in this hobby share in assisting of other hobbyists.

Now here are the stars (sorry about the wood in the background (doesn't make the best backdrop for pics):

Actually it IS because you're a nice guy. ::D: As I've mentioned before, my friends have always been good to me, including yourself. What goes around, comes around.

As for breeding, I can relate to that one....lol. Knowing exactly what you want is one thing, finding it is quite another.

Now gimme 'em back! They look so pretty in the pic's! The Latipinna is just starting to mature - can't wait to see him when his sail is developed. Oh and note somewhere that his collection location is "San Antonio River" - that's a fish pedigree of sorts.

If they have the ALA convention in San Antonio next year, maybe I can collect some myself! That's something I've never done - wild fish collecting. Methinks I'll have to make time for that.

Anyways, I'll watch for updates & look forward to seeing what you do with them.

I just thought of something.... if I can't catch a fish in a tank, imagine me trying to do it in a river?

Anyone else picturing me landing on my butt in the water? I'll be sure to post pics of me looking like a drowned rat, triumphantly holding up a bag of fish... which someone else caught for me.

:yes:That's so true. Many friends I have met through this hobby have been exceedingly generous in sharing everything from livestock and plants to equipment, time and knowledge with me. A special thanks to all you wonderful people.:Flowers3:

:nah: Can't do that... especially to the Latipinna. He's already eyeing all the girls in the other tank across the room. :;): As for the pintail female, I have a nice handsome mate picked out for her. (Sure hope she likes him  )

You've got it right. Wags have black fins and tail. Pintail in the pointed tail. So she is a pintail wag.
