I ask because yesterday I had my magnifying glass out to see how many platy fry I have in the 33. I noticed one of my endler males has only one eye. It could be old or new, I'm not sure as I haven't ever looked that closely before.

I don't think it is other endlers, platys or cories. I have seen the yo yo loach do some chasing of fish, just wondered if it could be him?

I've never met an aggressive Yo Yo Loach. They may appear aggressive to some because they think nothing of bopping a fish out of their way, especially if there's food around. I kept them in community tanks for a few years without injury so I doubt it. If anything, it got its eye poked but not exactly intentionally.

Thanks. I just was trying to figure out what had happened and never having a yo yo loach before, thought it might be him. He has done an excellent job of ridding the plants and tank of snails, though.:notworthy: I'm hoping to move him to my other snail infested tank once the temp comes down more in line with regular fish as opposed to discus temperatures. He'll have a hayday in that tank.

He'll be happier with a couple more, but they do ok on their own. The majority of Loaches are aggressive to one degree or another, so there's a decent chance that his personality is just more mean even though the species is considered 'community'. If that's the case, more would probably help - that's often how it goes with borderline aggressives anyway.

They are indeed excellent snailers. All of the Botia species like their snails, but the Yo Yo Loaches did an exceptional job for me before I gave them to Mr. Mykiss.

Thanks, Mel. I originally had 3, 1 jumped ship, literally, and the other didn't make it. I'll keep an eye out for some more.
