Yay! Thought i'd just let everyone know, my red zebra is holding, my first time experiencing this, my yellow lab has held a few times, but she spit. However, the red zebra, I've only had for 1 month, is holding!! I can see the lil guys in her mouth, I see many many many eyes. Any tips??

Sorry, no tips from me, not a cichlid keeper, but for sure YAY !

Cool... wish I could offer advice but I know next to nothing about Cichlids... hopefully, someone who does will be able to help.

that seems like an extremely long time to be holding,, I would strip her.
I have had to do that to my metriclima mbenji's,, sometimes they don't spit so you have to strip them.
do some research into if you want to do it or just wait and hope that she spits naturally.

Well.. i stripped her.. and got 9 babies, left her with the babies for 30 mins, came back to try to get more out.. lol and she took them all back in her mouth!!! Soooooooooo later today i tried again,and got 13, she has a few more but she wont let them loose. shes only 2.5" big, so shes just a baby herself.. they are all swimming and eating!

Okay, so I stripped her yesterday, and got 13, today i woke up to more swimming with her.... i got 25 babies!! Now.... on to raising them!
