I was cleaning one of the snail tanks which are full of plants and caves and places for my cory's to hide when I realized I was sucking up eggs with the python. Upon closer inspection there are about 5 clutches still in there..The tank contains...cory's, spixi' as far as underwater egg layers go. It also has brigs, a cana and a haustrum.

Can these be moved? Or should I just move everyone into other tanks until the babies hatch...If the babies hatch that is.

Thanks!

They could be Spixies by the looks of them. When it rains, it pours, hmm?

One can only hope! I've got the room and I do recall a little birdie saying if I ever had too many hmmm. :;): But I think my cory's are nibbling on them. I"m thinking about moving everyone and keeping the spixi's in there. Unless I can move the eggs.

Boy, spring has sprung for a lot of folks here. Congrats on the spixi eggs. I just got some from Shelley yesterday, I think they are so cute. And they don't get as big as apple snails.

Keep us posted as to whether they hatch. I'd love to see some pics of baby spixis.

You can move them no prob - just use a credit card or something similar to scrape them off. I don't think Spixi eggs taste good, which would explain why there's so many surviving clutches.

Thanks I've been dying for eggs! From just about anyone...Of couse my ranchu's and oranda's are still holding out the little creeps.

Last question I think...Should I move em? Or can they hatch in there with everyone else? I wonder if my cana will eat the babies.

I haven't kept the Cana's with smaller snails so I'm not sure on that. Peggy or Pamelajo may have some experience with it. Probably the biggest concern would be if they'd get their share of food with Cana's in there. I'd PM those smart snailie ladies & ask them.

Oh I wouldn't plan on keeping them all together...I just meant when they first hatched. This weekend I was supposed to be having my boyfriend's very nice Father here on Saturday....His Mother and her boyfriend invited themselves here after saying they didn't want to come origionally she knows I don't have the room. Upon explaning I don't have the room she told me I could sleep on the floor and they'd take my bed.(yeah I don't think so!) If it was anyone else I wouldn't mind at all honestly. I then suggested she stay with another relative who has 3 extra rooms and lives minutes away and actually likes her. (I think) Of course she delined and is coming to stay with us. Hope she likes the blow up bed! :twitcy: Meanwhile his parents hate one another, she does all of this for drama of course and isn't the least bit nice to me either. So I'm ripping my hair out trying to clean the house and prep for the invasion. Long story short just wondered if the eggs would be okay for a few days with the cana's in there until I have the time to move them. On top of all of this my sump is acting up again.

BeerStore/LCBO here I come!

ROFL Those types just love their son too much - she's threatened by you on some level and is scared to death you'll hurt her baby. So chin up, drink up, and while you have to be respectful for your boyfriend, don't feel that you have to take crap either. She'll respect you for it in spite of herself. I know that from experience  .

Is it bad I have beer seperated by day and how much I'll need to not pay attention to her rude comments? LOL Besides I'm from NY and don't plan on taking any of her crap...Most of the time I smirk, look at her sideways like I can't understand what she's saying and walk away. It seems to annoy the heck out of her yet I haven't said one rude thing...........yet!

In other news there are now 9 spixi clutches! Apparently they want to show me how happy they are!

Its amazing how red wine makes all comments instantly go away...The Dragon Lady has left the building! She actually walked around taking pictures of my fish and none of us LOL. What's stupid is, she left today lives 3 hours away and meanwhile her daughter is due to give birth today. Wouldn't you kinda stick around? Even though I wanted to swallow my tongue rather then offer.. I did tell them they were welcome to to stay until the baby comes. The whole time thinking Please Gods no please Gods...lol The minute I said they could stay longer they took off...Had I knew that little trick a day or two sooner! :twitcy:

There are even more spixi egg's and the haustrums now seem to be very amorous. Okay one is the other can't get him off of her back lol. Poor thing. The spixi's that I believe to be the happy couple who are leaving me presents were sent from you Melody! :) Thanks! I'm going to start cycling another tank and just move everyone else as if they are all viable I am going to be up to my eyeballs in spixi's soon. :)

Thanks for thinking of me...I just rolled my eyes a lot and made sure I had a full glass to keep my mouth occupied at all times lol.

Well I'm glad Spring is still in your tanks - it left mine  .

Sounds like you coped beautifully, but then again, you strike me as the type that always does. Treat yourself to something special this week!

Awww thanks coming from you that's a HUGE compliment! I already told him the past weekend is going to cost him some fish. Funny how a year ago it would have been clothes or a manicure and now its fish lol. How very unsexy lol.

ROFL I've often thought the same thing. I am grudgingly and grumpily spending money on office clothes this week and I don't even enjoy it. I've never been one that enjoys clothes shopping much, but now I resent it because its perfectly good money that could be spent on fish.
