Its not news in the hobby that heat can speed growth rates to unnatural levels, but now we're seeing it in nature. What the article doesn't cover is that these long-lived species are going to have shorter lifespans if the growth rate is faster. They'll probably also require more food as their metabolism will be in high-speed mode, which could upset the food chain.

I was going to post a comment on their site but I don't feel qualified, since I'm not a marine buff. There could be factors that I'm not aware of, so there's no sense in setting myself up to be very publicly proven to be a marine idiot :laugh: .
