Well most of the other fishies aren't co-operating, or my lighting isn't, so we'll go with some more photogenic fishies - my Plumetail Platy's.

My biggest female EVER:

Oooh love those Plumetail Platys! Beautiful. And of course the Red Velvet. Such striking colors... and so photogenic too.

You want to come over here and explain the art of posing for the camera to my bunch? On second thought... maybe it's the photographer that's captivated their attention so I'll just let you take the pictures... that ought to work.

Hint: If ever you run out of space for those beauties, I know of a great foster-Dad just over the bridge who'd make room for some in his tank. ;)

Oh its EASY - you just take 40 billion pic's, learn graphics design so you can sharpen, lighten and fix, and voila! lol

I'm finally getting a few pics of the wild-types, but I'm not kidding when I say that its 40 billion for one. My biggest enemy is glare, not on the glass, but on the fish, those over-exposed blotches on the fish itself - drives me nuts.

As for adoptions, I'll definitly keep that in mind....lol. I had a disease run through their tank last time I had them, thanks to a certain chain store and my stupidity/lack of space for quarantine. It took me MONTHS to get rid of the bug too. I tried EVERYTHING, breaking all of my own rules for treating unknown diseases by throwing med's at it. Nothing worked. I'd have perfectly healthy fish in other tanks for months, put them in there and they'd drop like flies. I finally bleached the tank out.

So now I'm starting again with two award-winning breeder's lines, and outcrossing to regular Platy's to expand the colors. I learned along the way that the Pintails I had before, are actually considered 'poor cousins' to the Plumetails, which have more of a 'plume' shape to the tail. I like them both though - guess I'm just not a snobby enough fishkeeper....lol.
