So the boyfriend was taunting me the other night saying 'See the fish like me better!' They wiggle and dance the minute he walks in the room, typical girls! Take a look at the pictures and then I'll finish the story below....

So more of nyah nyah 'the fish like me betterrrrr' going on until...My calico ranchu swam right up and bit him on the nose... :chatterbox:  Sadly I don't have any pictures of that event as I was keeled over howling by that point. Ha ha wheeze! It still makes me laugh!

So Kathleen, do you think your boyfriend will be sticking his nose in the tank from now on?
Those fish are big! You get the idea of their size with them sitting in your hand. Love the "taking turns" for their time in the hand. And they say fish are boring and have no personalities, I think not!

I don't think he'll be sticking his nose in the tank anymore and if knew I posted these photo's he'd probally stick my head in the tank.
Those ranchu are getting pretty big, the two big one's are Malaysian ranchu's. Meanwhile my Thai ranchu's look anorexic in comparison. My fish are definately not boaring and have their own very distinct personalities. One of my oranda's sucks air at the top of the tank to let me know she's hungry again...Which is about 23 out of 24 hours a day lol. The other day she was clucking and sucking about so much I almost called the cops. It sounded as if someone was opening my front door...Meanwhile it was my dopey fish lol.

That's priceless! Poor guy... and to think all you could do was laugh. I'm sure that'll be the last time he (or anyone reading this) sticks their nose in a tank. :wideeyed:
Love the 'It's my turn' picture'.

Amazing pictures !
Love the hand training. That must have taken a little time for them to get that comfortable with you !
I find with my fish, some will come swimming around my hands when I'm working in the tank, many stay as far away as they can.
Again, amazing pictures !

Again it comes down to personality...The 3 ranchu in that tank were super friendly and eating and swimming out of my hand from day one and I got them less then 2 months ago. In my other tank fish I've some do like being touched some are still investigating 'the hand' and will just peck at it. I'm obessive about making sure my hands are clean and have no lotion (which is why I'm sure they look like 90 year olds hands). I put food in my hand make a fist hold it underwater for about a minute and then open it releasing the food. I do this until they are nibbling at my hand when I put it in the tank and then start holding the food in my open palm or between my fingers. Now they all push eachother around to sit in the hand even if there isn't any food.
