It looks and sounds as if the skies are about to open up here followed by locusts or something. Lots of thunder, at least I won't have to water the lawn today! Its pretty warm here in the 80's.

Toasty here on the west coast too... but under sunny skies (a few high clouds but that's it). Today's high is supposed to be 27C... it's 23 downtown Vancouver already at noon.::D:

Nice to hear that you're warming up in the wild West Christian. Its too hot now - I'm not much of a Summer fan. I may moved to the office - its air conditioned.

I agree: Too hot! But I dare not complain or we'll be back to the cold and rain again. The reason I live here (well one of them) is that the summer nom is 18-23C... perfect in my books. I'm a Montrealer originally (many, many moons ago)... and can't stand the heat and humidity.

I've already had to add ice cubes to the couple of 2g tanks I have as they warm up waaaay too fast in this heat.

Melody, if you move to the office, you realize you'll have to explain the upteen tanks you're bringing with you.

I wouldn't worry about icing most Livebearer tanks - most of them hail from hot water, be it wild habitat or Florida farms. Its a good idea to increase the water movement though. Some of the Goodeids should stay cooler.

I'll just drop my tanks off at your house.

OK... and I'll drop my tanks off at your place when I go on vacation, ok?

I just rode home from work on the motorcycle wearing a leather jacket, jeans and boots. I thought I was going to melt before I made it home! What happened to our nice mild spring weather?

Love that look... if you ever see a 30-something woman gawking at you, its me  .

Granted, if you've been melting all the way home, I won't get too close.:wideeyed:

I never had that problem when I had a bike... I was too poor for the leather jacket or rain gear (when needed) for that matter. Summer meant shorts, T-shirt and sandals - fool that I was... any mishap would have resulted in major road rash to be sure... ahhh, but I was 20... I was invincible!

I believe most young motorcyclists deal with the problem in similar ways. One time driving the #1 into town, around surrey I was passed at ridiculous speed by a guy in a hawaiian shirt and shorts weaving in between traffic, standing on his seat with one leg in the air above his head. He must have been trying to air out the underparts :)

That was just a very scary image from every angle.

I may have been foolish enough to dress in shorts and sandals, but even then I was very much aware that any foolish move (by me or anyone else on the road at the time) could cost me my life so I drove sanely and with caution and remained 100% alert to potential dangers. I spend more hours on the road than most (I drive a bus for a living) and I too see the insane things that some motorcyclists will do. I cringe every time... hoping that I don't have to witness disaster unfold before me.:wideeyed:

Well...the heat was on today...29ºC and muggy...but we had one Hades of a thundershower (about 7-8cm of rain in under an hour) to cool things off a bit just after dinnertime. According to the weather guys, we are in for much the same tomorrow....and I gey to spend the whole afternoon landing more import koi than you can imagine...in the shop...in 100%+ humidity and temps roughly equal to outside....yay.

...Hades of a thundershower...

OK, "Hades" is a bit geeky, but the damnable cuss-filter will not let me say the other 'H' word. Bet I can still say 'hella', though. :P

LOL, thankfully I was spared the insight (pun intended:) into what he was compensating for!

LOL We are a g-rated forum that counts on everyone having an extensive enough vocabulary to be creative, like you :;): .

We got a thunder storm here last night too, which we don't see very often. I miss the powerful thunder storms like I used to see in New Brunswick. Love a good storm.

Love a good storm.

Me too... It was neat to watch the forked lightning east of here... something we rarely see here. Rain again tonight and cooler. Vancouver was 26 yesterday... which felt really hot but Lytton had a record breaking 37C yesterday (broke the record of 29C for the date)... Lytton is known as a hot spot but heck, it isn't even officially summer yet.

Cloudy..no wait, raining....uumm....nope cloudy... oh wait ! ... theres the sun !!....shucks, its gone again....cloudy... oh its a bit sunny now... quick go hang out the laundry !...... oh no...quick go get the laundry in its raining !! LOL! .... was that thunder I heard?

Speaking of thunder and lightning storms, we had a doozy here last weekend... (I think it was) it thundered continuously for a few hours straight !! No let up, no few seconds in between booms, just steady rolling thunder !! It was awesome ! Most folks around here have never seen a storm like that one ! I guess you could even see it coming in the distance, the black clouds rolling down the Strait of Canso.... made it seem like night was coming, and when it got overhead, it was black outside ! I loved it, but my whinning shivering crying dogs sure didn't ! Sheesh, they ruin every good thunderstorm for me...:twitcy:

I miss Eastern thunder & lightning storms  . The last time I was home in the Summer, there was a spectacular heat lightning storm. Those are very strange, lightning in a clear sky. Its so odd that even the night creatures go silent.

Your current weather sounds much like ours has been lately...lol.
