I noticed a seller on ebay in NY, is shipping snails into Canada as well as the States. Just wondering if its legal to ship snails and fish into Canuckville from the States.

The States has the aquatic snail rules, we don't. They shouldn't be shipping them across State lines without a permit and most you can't get permits for. You can't ship into Canada without crossing State lines, so technically, they could be called on it. The reg's don't say that the destination can't be across State lines, they just say the snails can't cross them period. Brig's can go with a permit, but they have to be larger than a quarter and eggs are a no-no.
Just because the seller is in New York, it doesn't mean the flight crosses directly into Canada - it could fly through several States and enter through BC first, for all we know. It also has to leave the State and cross federal land to cross the border, even if it does go straight across, thereby crossing State lines and breaking the law as it currently is worded.

eBay is pretty tough on that stuff so you could always send them a note.
The worst part about eBay is you have to ship overnight - on top of $12 clutches, that's too expensive for this chick.

I was thinking they'd be up on the latest interpretation of the laws, but I suppose they'd want to know why you were asking....lol.
If shipping wasn't so freaking high, I'd take you up on that. I'll wait until you have 50 clutches from every snail you own, then I can justify the shipping  . You're obviously doing a great job with them!

I'm a sucker for clutches - I love hatching them out for some reason. The romance wears off when I'm doing the baby tank waterchanges, but I still like it anyway. I'm sure we could strike up a wholesale deal when the time comes. My snails appear to be taking a break. Could have something to do with my tank loads right now though, but that will change as I move these fish out over the next week.
You're also welcome to post them here too of course - you usually have a two week window before they hatch. If I recall correctly, the going rate for a clutch is $5-$6 each for Brig's... I can't remember if Spixi clutches are the same amount or not.
