I have never shipped or have had plants shipped to me. My question is how should the be packaged? If they are floating plants, do only the roots need to be kept moist? So would a wet paper towel over the roots and put them in a ziploc bag work? (Then of course in a bubble envelope or something). Am I on the right track?

No bubble envelopes!!!!:realmad: :NoWay:

Boxes and only boxes. Make sure you get a good strong box. THen take ziploc bags and cover the roots with wet paper towel (for aquatic plants, cover the whole plant).

So you are definately on the right track ::D:

I've received a lot of plants in envelopes and they did very well, but maybe that was the varieties. If they're in bags of air with a little water they do well and don't get crushed. Floating plants need humidity so the latter method should work fine. I would guess that it would also reduce the chance of them rotting.

Newspaper is better than paper towels, according to a friend I have who does it professionally. He also says that Summer is the worst time to ship plants and they should have a cold pack, so don't delay.

Melody says if you're ordering and there's lots, you should share the shipping with her.
