 I bought eels four years ago. I like it so much, but I can't find information about them. It about 20cm long light brawn color , breath the air , like hiding under ground, it have 6 mustasch around the mouth. Usually they spend most of the time on the bottom of aquarium, but one eel star floating on the surface . I was watch them all this years , and right now its looks strange. I think maybe it old, or maybe it sick. If somebody know something about eels pleas help me.

Hi Yelena, great to see you. I moved the post here in the hopes that someone who knows about eels would see it.
Are you sure they aren't Weather Loaches? They look a lot like an Eel. If they are Weather Loaches, they like to move to the top of the tank sometimes, especially if there is something there for them to lay on.
Do you have some pictures of them?

Whiskers :;): - just a language barrier thing, I'm sure we can overcome that.

Nono, I mean the Erpetoichthys calabaricus doesn't have 6 mustaches or whiskers. I would like to know what kind of fish that is :;):

True....thinking on it, perhaps an eel catfish, like Heteropneustes fossilis, although as I remember, most, if not all Heteropneustidae have eight whiskers...but I believe all Trichomycteridae have six, and most of those are pretty eel-like.

Yeah, if it doesn't have 6 whiskers, it must be rope fish, since it breaths surface air. I am curious what kind of fish it is. Sound like catfish, but it breaths air:eek:
