The absolute best fish you could ever imagine. This male is SUCH A SHOWOFF! His crest is huge! ::D:

The female is great too.

They are great, aren't they? I had a male/female who had 3 batches of fry, Mom was super attentive, Dad just wanted to eat them. Took out Dad and Mom raised the babies just fine. Beautiful fish you've got there. Fry is next, right?

they are great. Only downside for you is they can't be kept with cories.

why can't you keep them with cories?

madattiver

why do you say that??? I think I recall people keeping them with corys in the past as well

i say this because they both inhabit the cottom of the tank. And cories are notorious for not learning their lesson after invading a mated pairs breeding grounds. THey will keep returning looking for food, and being pestered by the apistos which don't put up with much. THese guys are suprisingly agressive. Its just an unhealthy living situation to have them in with cories IMO. I guess it could be done with a large enough tank though.

What about with bn's?

From what i have read, they are fine, because plecos don;t move alot, thuis they do not draw alot of attention to themselves.

Guess what i came home to today:

Well, i shouldent actually say that, i have bred zebra danios and white clouds aswell as goldfish in my pond, only to see the little fry get eaten though.

How did you get the white clouds to spawn. I have some lf ones, and have no luck so far. I have not even seen any courting. LOL Mel is waiting patiently for me to send her some.

white clouds are easy.. I just put a pair in a small tank with a clump of yarn in the bottom.. by the morning she was skinny and there were eggs everywhere in the yarn

Whiteclouds are actually super easy to breed, but they and other fish find the eggs yummy. Then the fry are hatched tiny and they're even more yummy. I think you'll do just fine when you get them into a breeding tank. They spawn almost constantly in fact.
