In the ongoing saga of Zap, the Electric Yellow Cichlid, we find Melody considering some Cory's or BN Plecos for her tank...

Zap is an ornery lady who didn't tolerate a Chinese Algae Eater very well, but he was more aggressive so I can't blame her entirely. She regularly beats up a floating glass (fake) fish in her tank. She does fine with the snails, only knocking them unceremoniously off the glass occasionally if the urge strikes.

How are they with passive fish? Let me be clear here - I don't want any fish in my tanks that has to fear for its life & fins, so if they live through it but are terrorized, I want no part of it.

Experiences?

Thanks!

I have always been told not to keep my corys with cichlids.. so have never actually tested out that theory. my only concern would it being able to get enough food as I know how aggressive eaters cichlids are

Then I'll skip it - I don't like experimenting with live creatures and its not necessary. I just hate giving her all of that tank space...lol. However, I signed on to look after her so that's what I'll do to the best of my ability. I don't like to see any creature suffer to suit what their human keepers want, so we'll keep the Cory's safe & sound. Food doesn't appear to be a prob as the snails do fine, but its only the one Cichlid so she misses a lot.

When I feed the Bottom Bites, she shoves them off a piece, picks it up and takes it into her cave  .

She sounds funny! I don't have cichlids but I would like to have some soon! There are so many to choose from. I start to look them up and then can't make up my mind.
