I got some new babies from Mr. Madattiver! The pic's aren't good, but I wanted to show the fishies off anyway. Maybe Mr. Mad will post some adult pic's for us so you can get a better idea, as these are still juvies.
This one is a horrible pic, but I like how it shows the 'lazer' well:

And here is a couple with friends:

I've loved the lazers ever since I first saw them many moons ago, but never got around to getting any. I hope to have Orange Lazers joining them before the Summer is out. There was a Red Lazer around when the Lazers first started showing up in the hobby, but I haven't seen it since. It would be tres cool to end up with all three.::D:
Thanks Mr. Mad! I love the little things to pieces! Very healthy & active creatures.

Nice cories, Melody. Don't think I've seen them over here on the Island. A new one to breed for you?:;):

Since these are juvies I take it the colors are natural, no dye added? Is that the case with the orange and reds as well?
Very pretty thats for sure !!

Good question Mindy - the colour is natural, no dye.
I'll be breeding them all when they get big enough... granted, I say that about a lot of Cory's and don't get around to it most of the time....lol. I've never seen them at the retail level, although they may be by now.
In the meantime, I can't say enough good about Mr. Madattiver. He was fantastic to deal with and the fish are of supreme quality. He has quite a Cory collection going there & he ships!

Ships? What other fish does he carry? Does he ship this far? Hmmmm??
And how easy is it to get your corys to spawn? I would love to be able to spawn mine, but it has never worked for me.... plus my large female passed away recently :( My stock came from Doug White, Corydoras Paleatus.

That's one of the easiest Cory's to spawn - they'll do it without any special treatment. The eggs might be getting eaten before you snag them though. They're easy enough to pick up on the retail level if you need a new female. Cool waterchanges should do it if they seem stubborn, along with a high-protein diet.
Mr. Madattiver is in Saskatchewan and specializes in Cory's. I think he's just started spawning them in a big way. I'm sure if you PM'ed him ('Madattiver'), he'd be happy to tell you what he has available. He also has some Livebearers & Plecos.::D:
He may be away for the weekend, but I'm sure he'll chime in eventually.

I only ever seen them spawn once years ago, and that was after a move from one house to another. I tried everything since... including colder water changes etc... but no go... hhmmm.... my water is very soft and acidic, could that affect them?
Thanks for the info on Mr. Madattiver , I am broke right now, but if I ever want new fish, I will be sure to keep him in mind! No sense in bugging him now with me being broke and all! LOL!

ps.. what kind of live bearers and what kind of plecos? LOL!

I'm going to let him take it from here. Most of my Cory studying was a long time ago when the Earth was green, so I'm sure he could better guide you than I. He also knows what fish he has better than I do...lol.
If you ever want the virtual bible of Cory's, grab Ian Fuller's book. Its amazing. He has two out now that I know of. Its a great book for club libraries.::D:
