If you mean Dropsy ( severely bloated ), then yes the fish should be isolated. It is usually a sign of internal organ failure and is usually fatal.
There are some reports of survival, but I don't have those answers.

Are they pineconed in appearance with their scales sticking out?
Or are they just swollen in the belly area? Sometimes they can be constipated, and sometimes this can be fixed by feeding them a pea. A thawed pea with the skin removed, and broken into pieces and fed to the fish. Feed over a few days to get things moving again. Bettas really like them !
But if it is overall body swelling... then do as Blainep suggested, isolate them. There have been cases of strong antibiotics helping, but not very often.

There is an article about constipation and bloat here (http://www.canadianaquariumconnection.com/forum/showthread.php?t=855).
Good luck!
