Corydoras weitzmani

well kiddo's.. I just wanted to jump on here and spread the news.. I have witnessed what I thought was spawning for the past several weeks as the males have been going crazy chasing females around the tanks like they are on speed. I actually found two infertile eggs on the past friday before leaving for the lake.. I was disapointed, but happy that they were actually spawning.

so tonight, I see the same thing.. males were chasing the females around the tank like a drunken 19 year old following a batchlorette party.. a lightbulb went off when I saw this.. I quickly removed all the javamoss out of the tank and started searching through it.. and low and behold I found 6 eggs, and all appear to be fertile as of now. I also found several mushy infertile eggs which were most likely from last weeks spawning.

now here comes the hard part.. getting these eggs to hatch and raising fry.

I really... REALLY hope I can raise some fry from these as they are one of my favorites and are quite rare. btw.. here is a pic of one of the adults

4 of 6 eggs still looked good this afternoon.. and I collected 2 more eggs today, but they were infertile. but, that is still promising as they are still spawning, and seem to be on a regular basis. The fertility should increase with every spawn

I have been collecting eggs throughout the past couple days.. 2 here.. 3 there.. total number is up to 12 eggs collected in the past couple days.. some fertile.. other not.. hope this pattern continues, only with the fertility increasing

I had one fry as of last night, but I am not sure it is going to make it.. more eggs should be hatching over the next few days, or at least I hope they are
