Just wondering if there are any serious Apistogramma lovers in here!

I've got a project with an Apistogramma species that I have to spread around eventually!

Hello BadGuY,

I've been contemplating getting involved with this species.
What have you got and what do you have in mind exactly?
Cheers

I've got a species that was sent over by Mike Wise for me to get them to adult stage, breed them, and afterwards, spread them around in Canada.

The species in question is A. sp. aff. Peixoto.

They are still relatively young, very hard to sex them right now. I plan on having them breed by the end of fall, if everything goes right!

So that's pretty much the whole project for them right now!

I might get another species this summer to do the same, but nothing is confirmed yet!

I love the dwarf cichlids, and would love to have some. Hard to get in my area though..:(

Maybe you will be able to ship? LOL !! I'm in Nova Scotia... so not that far from Quebec !

Are we talkin' the same Melody here? Cause last I heard she likes to feed/nuture such addictions. I know this to be true, how you say? Ask me about my 4 48 gallons and 2 30 gallon tanks full of snails! Soon I will be sleeping in a circle of salt.

I'm still a goldfish chick but I have very recently admired apistos. I figure when my work visa/teaching job comes through, it will be another opportunity to hide new fish and more tanks in my classroom. Perhaps someday. :)

Pics!
I kept cacatuoides for a short time. It was an impulse buy and I resold them once I found out that triple reds were essentially highly inbred novelties...not my bag. I would like to investigate the group further and hopefully in 6 weeks or so I'll have tank space galore!!

They have grown quite a bit, but I haven't tried to sex them out yet.
They will be moving to larger quarters in the next week or so...
When I move them, I'll try to take some pics of them!

That would be awesome... and how the heck did you get these from Mike Wise?? I might want to get some fry from you down the road if you ever get them spawning.. especially with the quality of fish Mike keeps and the rarity of this species.

I wonder what happened with that project? It can be so hard to raise large numbers of territorial fish.

I'd have to get a RO unit (The well water here in the Laurentians is pretty darn hard).

You got pics of the adults ??
