Meet Dr. Zoidberg, the zebra crayfish (Cherax sp. "Zebra") that I recently adopted. He is now in a 29G all by his lonesome because the stupid zebra danios were too dumb to leave him alone. In his defence he wasn't interested in eating them until they swam right into his claws trying to steal his food.

Pretty lousy pictures but you get the idea. I keep looking at all that empty tank space wondering what I can put in there that would survive. I'll probably just end up throwing culled platys in there as feeders.

He's beautiful! I love the second picture, he has that 'go ahead come a little closer and see what you get look' going on.
If those are your crappy pictures I can't wait to see when you take good one's, they look great to me!

He has such a scary look about him, but he has very pretty colouration at the same time. It makes him that much more interesting to look at.

I think he's really neat looking. Wish I had room for one.
And Melody, Mr. GP will convert you to a crayfish lover/owner yet. (Remember the days when you thought snails were :Eeewww:??? )

Mr. GP is thegrandpoohbah (http://www.canadianaquariumconnection.com/forum/member.php?u=17) himself (owner of said crayfish and man of many talents. :;): ) AND he's one of our hard working moderators here on the forum.

What a neet crayfish I like his white claws. I don't know much about crayfish but they really intrest me someday I would like to have some. So here are some of my thoughts, can you have more then one crayfish in the tank? What about plants,if Zoodburg would leave plants alone then i think some tall ones in the back would make the tank look fuller or some floating plants. The one fish I keep thinking of are hatchet fish I use to have some years ago and they never went to the bottom of the tank, they always stayed up top, maybe some will know from experience if they would work together.
Good luck with him and finding some tankmates.
p.s. Is he full growen at 5" or will he get much bigger?

No it won't get much larger than 5" from nose to tale. Not including claws.
