New warning, just showed up on my weather watch icon abt 15mins ago:
WIND WARNING!!!!:
A WIND WARNING IS IN EFFECT FOR THE GREATER VANCOUVER. WIND SPEEDS OVER 70KM/H WITH GUSTS OVER 100 ARE EXPECTED.
Environment Canada is still saying we won't get it till tomorrow afternoon but, it could come sooner :( Stock up on candles, flashlights and water as we may once again be without power.
Guess Mother Nature has no pity for us in her plans and now I know how the poor people of the tropics feel when their life is disrupted by her ever so present fury.

Thanks for the heads-up. Shall keep my fingers crossed that you don't lose power this time... you (& your fish) have been through enough already!

Thanks Jay,
I'm not going to take any chances, already stocked up on candles and water again. We will be using the generator for the sump and for whatever else we may need it for. Unfortunately it's not very big so I won't be able to power lots of stuff with it, but if I can at least keep the temps in the tanks stable, that should help.
One REALLY crappy thing I discovered during the last power outage is the fact that we not only didn't have power, but we also didn't have heat despite it being a gas furnace, the stupid thing has an electric start :realmad:. I'd like to kick the s.o.b who thought that one up right where it counts lol.
Hmmm...wonder if the generator would power my computer, it'll be awfully boring again without it heh.
I hope everything goes well for everyone and nobody else has issues, it's really not much fun I've discovered lol.

I hope I come through it as well as I did the last one. I appreciate the warning - I don't watch TV, except for kids shows over my tower, which I deny....lol. I'll do my water changes tonight.
When is it supposed to start?

I was just looking at satellite imagery and it looks very very close LOL.
I don't know if this link will work or not but have a look:
http://weatheroffice.ec.gc.ca/satellite/animateweb_e.html?imagetype=satellite&imagename=goes_wcan_1070_s_..................jpg&nbimages=1&clf=1
If the link doesn't work, then go to: http://weatheroffice.ec.gc.ca/satellite/index_e.html
Scroll down to Western Canada, IR and pick small because then you can get the animated version which will show you how it is moving :)
Kinda scary and I was checking out satellite imagery for the pacific and it looks like there's another one behind this one, but I don't know if we'll get it or not.

I forgot to mention that my windchime has been more and more active over the last hour so the wind is already picking up slightly, I just don't know when the hurricane force stuff will get here.

According to the news flashes, it won't be as bad as the last one. I hope they're right. Thanks for the links/update!

Hopefully it won't, but in the end only Mother Nature will now how hard she wants to hit us.
I actually feel really bad for the poor people on the Island and other places who still don't have power and now may be even worse off with yet more wind and rain :( Makes my situation feel small.

Yes, there are downsides to paradise. However, at least we are British California rather than California, and our weather isn't anything CLOSE to what the tropical States live with.
OMG, the disasters have started already!!!! I just broke a nail!!!!
 Well its either laugh or cry...
