This is a fascinating video clip (well to me anyways) of different corals and species that have been discovered. The Medusa Jellyfish (which would give me nightmares to see up close) is so unique a new species had to be created.

A few of these I sure wouldn't mind seeing in the LFS.

Wow! It is an absolutely fascinating video. What amazing creatures... and such fabulous pictures of them. I had to watch it twice (couldn't help myself.) Thanks for posting the link.

p.s. I happen to like the 'Dumbo' Octopus... he's cute.

I watched it twice as well...And I so want a Dumbo Octopus...

Some octopi are very sweet, I had the pleasure of actually holding and petting one. It love having its tentacles stroked and wrapped around my arm. It was one of the coolest weirdest feelings I've ever encountered.

I hope you guys have seen the Blue Planet series!
It has a 50 min episode on craazy deep sea creatures, and another 9 episodes as well, for a total of 400+ mins of really neat ocean footage. There is a new series as well called Planet Earth with an episode on the deep ocean, also sure to be awesome, but I haven't seen that yet...

Hmm, just remembered I have some neat pics of deep sea fish, unfortunately mostly dead :(

Some of those fish are really cool looking/scary as h-e double two sticks! Hmmm the blob fish looks similar to lion heads and thai ranchus without scales....Except my fiddies are much cuter thankfully.

This morning's newspaper (The Province) had an article Bizarre creatures discovered off east coast (http://www.canada.com/theprovince/news/story.html?id=1a077c9a-97a2-4fe8-8eb3-2274da4056ce) about the 21 day expedition by marine scientists to the Sable gully marine protected area where a robot took pictures of the 'Dumbo' octopus and other creatures. You can find it on page A25 and includes a really cool picture of 'Dumbo'. Sorry to say the on-line article does not.:(

I picked up the Planet Earth from Costco awhile back, haven't watched it yet...it'll be for one of my kid's bday gifts. She saw a clip of an episode once...this spore was growing out of this ant's head...she couldn't get that thought out of her head
