So one of my cories is rubbing, mashing itself/wiggling on the front of the glass. Is this spawning behaviour? :wideeyed:

I think they usually rub against each other, then the female doposits the egg. If the fish is rubbing, it may be a parasite. Maybe you have all females and she's frustrated  .

Well then, I'd say frustration - look for eggs in the morning!

Can anyone of them fertilize them? Or do they not cross breed? Guess I have to go read about cories. Yep there's a lot of wiggling and t positions going on. Its also been torrentially raining here for the past 3 days.

Some can cross, but I'm too rusty to fathom a guess on which ones. There is no better source of Cory information than Ian Fuller (http://corydorasworld.com/), if you want to start out right, our resident experts excluded of course :;): .

I can't imagine our resident expert(s) ever being annoyed with discussing his/her fave subject!

Well I figured out the mashed up against the glass mystery...I feed my snail algea wafers that I stick onto the glass half in the water half out so he has a chance against the plecs and cories of actually eating something...The wafer was mashed to the glass and so was my wacky cory who was dining on it.

ROFL That was my next guess, honest!

sorry.. I was out of town for work... as for spawning behavior.. the male will chase females around the tank.. doing a little shimmer dance to try to get them in the mood for spawning.. once she is ready to go they do what they call the "T Position" where the male is the top part of the T and the female clamps on head first to his ventral fins.. there is a little wiggling that happens and then they sit still for a few seconds.. then waalaaa.. she has an egg or two in her own ventral fins and she goes on the search for an appropriate place to deposit the eggs

does that little discription of that help you any?

Its exactly what I watched around 5am this am. I took a video of it but I haven't looked at it yet. I'm a little shot, there was a bit of excitement (and not the good kind) around here which kept me up the entire night. But at least I got to watch the cories spawn in between waiting for the cops. Who thought the fish were pretty cool too.
